Most Common Causes of Spine Misalignment


Spinal misalignment or “vertebral subluxations” have to do with irregular mobility or a seismic shifting of the vertebrae.

When spinal misalignments occur, often a wide range of symptoms and diseases can present themselves, ranging from pain, reduced range of motion and mobility, inflammation, herniated discs, muscle spasms, and much much more.

Your spine misalignment might be due to a number of factors. The most common culprits might include:

  • Inactivity
  • Injury (Previous or Emergent)
  • Stress
  • Sudden, Jarring Movements/Accidents
  • Poor Posture
  • Improper Lifting Techniques
  • Obesity
  • Performing Repetitive Motions

Other causes might include sleeping in the wrong sort of position. We recommend patients to sleep on their sides, keeping both legs angled slightly up towards your chest, separating the knees/ankles with a pillow.

Poor diet and growth irregularities can also cause spine misalignment.
