Thoracic and Rib Pain

The thoracic spine helps the ribs protect many of the body’s most vital organs. Often referred to as the T-spine, the thoracic spine is located in the mid to upper back and serves as a connection for the ribs. It is the largest section of the spine. If inflammation or injury occurs in this area, it can cause a massive amount of pain that is potentially difficult to treat.

Thoracic spine injuries can be very devastating. Whether or not surgical treatment is required, rehabilitative exercises play an important role in a full recovery.

If experiencing rib pain, it is important to seek medical care to determine the source of the cause of the pain. Recovery and treatment is dependent on the cause of injury associated with the damage.
